How splendid to be a sunflower
Bright as the midday sun
With petals of gold and a big, strong stalk
I’d laugh and have lots of fun
Every time I hear this song, I think of my special ray of sunshine, my daughter, Melanie.
You can meet her by clicking on her picture.
In the morning dew as the sun came up
I’d drink in its warming rays
And sip at the droplets of the dew
Stretching in sunflower ways
Throughout the day as the sun reached its peak
My petals and leaves would rise too
It would be such a glorious feeling
Such that I never knew
Then as the day turned into the night
And the sun began its descent
I would bow my head as I thanked the Lord
And know I was heaven sent
